Repairs to come!
The Oroville Senior Center is getting started on needed safety & building maintenance repairs in August. First on the list is levelling the sidewalk entrances to the building. The west side ramp is degraded and there is a tripping hazard where it meets the sidewalk. This whole ramp will be removed and replaced. The North side entrance has a major crack in the concrete and has shifted creating a tripping hazard.
Also on the building maintenance list is the replacement of the cedar shakes on the ‘eyebrow’ of the building. They are weathered and also a fire hazard. New metal roofing will replace them. Along with the ‘eyebrow’ the stucco will be repaired and painted to prevent water damage.
It has also been brought to our attention that one support post at the West entrance is rotted and needs replaced. This has been added to the list of repairs.
The Legacy Grant is the primary source of revenue for these needed repairs as well as long term savings earmarked for the building.
We appreciate your patience as the work is completed and efforts are being made to minimize the disruption to center activities and patrons.
